And the number one reason why it's a good idea to know how many days are in a month:
So you don't send out "Out of office" replies to everyone who e-mails you that say:
I will be out of the office the afternoon of April 30th. I will respond to any messages on Friday morning, April 31th.
It might also be a good idea to know that the proper abbreviation for "first" is "1st".
